OMI has developed the Community Relations Integration Officer (CRIO) Grants Program to provide one-off funding to not-for-profit community organisations to employ a CRIO
to raise awareness of and facilitate access to services and programs for members of new and emerging communities.
OMI is pleased to announce that the following agencies have been successful in obtaining a CRIO Grant:
Gosnells Women’s Health Service: aims to provide support for refugee women and their children settling in the southeast metropolitan corridor to
access post and prenatal services available in the area. The priority focus of the program is on parenting, pregnancy, childbirth and emotional health and well-being.
The Gowrie: aims to establish networks and identify issues and service gaps for young people (between the ages of 12 - 25) from new and emerging
communities (NECs) in the City of Canning and City of Gosnells areas.
Coalition for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees Inc (CARAD): is a partnership with CASE to connect the sponsors of family reunion applications to
those who can assist them to obtain credit in Australia, and also aims to provide education about credit in Australia to assist in the reduction of the financial debt of
humanitarian entrants.
Mission Australia: aims to encourage and support humanitarian migrants with culturally diverse backgrounds to access services relevant to their needs,
with a particular focus on women from Africa.
Ethnic Disability Advocacy Centre: is a partnership with Multicultural Services WA, MMRC, Fremantle Migrant Resource Centre and ASeTTS which aims to

disability awareness and culturally appropriate service provision.
Muslim Women’s Support Centre: aims to strengthen families through enhancing parenting skills and promoting general well-being in mothers of NECs.
The project will provide information and referrals to relevant service providers and programs, both mainstream and CaLD specific, as well as develop strategies to overcome
any barriers that may prevent the target group from accessing programs and services that meet parenting and well-being needs.
Brockman House: to enhance the capacity of newly arrived Iraqi families in the metropolitan area to access relevant Government and Non-Government programs
