Multicultural groups, organisations and individuals are invited to help transform local government by having a say on a new Local Government Act.
Local governments play a significant role in ensuring that refugees and new migrants feel welcomed and included, understand their rights and responsibilities, participate in local democracy and are supported with appropriate services in the local community. This often involves making important decisions.
By contributing to local government reform you can help improve the way local governments make these decisions and contribute to better services, better decisions, and more efficient and accountable local government into the future.
The reform of the Act is being coordinated by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. For more information or to have your say visit www.dlgsc.wa.gov.au/lgareview
