Funding for community projects

Funding for community projects

Are you currently working on addressing any needs or challenges for your community? Are you looking to support the development of your community in some way?

The Office of Multicultural Interests (OMI) offers funding of up to $50,000 for projects that benefit culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) communities.

As a part of OMI's Community Grants Program, community groups and associations can apply for funding for projects that benefit new and emerging communities, women, seniors, young people and regional communities.

Projects may be focused on (but are not limited to) addressing challenges such as:

·         family and domestic violence prevention

·         parenting

·         employment and skills development

·         leadership

·         financial literacy

·         health and wellbeing

·         support for regional communities.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible, organisations must be specifically focused on initiatives for CaLD communities and be either:

·         a not-for-profit organisation based in WA

·         an association operating under the Associations Incorporations Act 2015, based in WA.

Sounds good, what do I have to do?

If you have a project idea you should contact OMI's Community Engagement team to discuss your idea or project before starting your application.

The team at OMI can support the development of your ideas and provide guidance on your application.

You can arrange a one-on-one meeting at a time and venue to suit you throughout the year.
