Is your community group looking for a room or hall to hire for a meeting, special occasion, celebration or function? Or is your group looking for an outdoor space such as a park or reserve for a picnic celebration or function?

Below is a list of facilities for hire in metropolitan local government areas, as well as a list of Family Centres who also have rooms for hire. If you want to enquire about hiring a facility, please contact the facility directly.

Metropolitan Local Governments have a range of facilities and parks and reserves for hire. Community groups can often hire venues at a discounted rate.

Family Centres funded by the Department of Local Government and Communities also have rooms for hire.  Community groups can hire these rooms at discounted rates.

Holding ​​​​an Event

The Office of Multicultural Interests Community Events Calendar is a great place to promote your event.

To have your event considered, you will need to provide the following information:

  • name of organisation
  • title of the event
  • date
  • start and finishing time
  • venue
  • brief description (maximum 100 words)
  • email address or website of the organisation
  • contact person's name, email and telephone details.

Submission guidelines:

  • only events held by non-profit organisations including community associations will be displayed. No commercial promotion will be included
  • events should be open to the general public
  • you may include a photo or flyer for the event. Photos should be saved in JPG​ format with quality set at 72dpi and no longer than 300 pixels.
  • OMI reserves the right to edit or reject any submission.
