India COVID-19 Crisis Relief Funding

The State Government has allocated $2 million in relief funding to support those directly impacted by the COVID-19 crisis in India.

India is currently in the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The State Government is allocating $2 million in relief funding to support those directly impacted by the COVID-19 crisis in India. The fund complements initiatives already being delivered by Western Australian Indian organisations including the provision and installation of oxygen concentrates in hospitals, the sourcing and provision of ventilators, and grants to those vulnerable and disadvantaged members of the Indian community.

Western Australians can also make donations to Sewa International Australia, a registered not-for-profit organisation that has a presence in India, which is also raising funds for the COVID-19 plight in India.

Applications for this program must be submitted by a Western Australian Indian community association working in partnership with a registered Australian charity organisation that is already delivering COVID-19 support on-the-ground in India.

Refer to the guidelines for more information before applying.
