The Centre for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees (CARAD) will host an event to mark Refugee Week featuring a presentation that will provide an overview of barriers faced by those seeking asylum in Australia. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear about CARAD's work that has made positive impacts in the community and hear from CARAD clients who are rebuilding their lives in Perth.

The event will also highlight ways for attendees to contribute, get involved and support community initiatives that aims to create a more welcoming environment for those from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds in Western Australia.

Attendees are encouraged to bring the below donation items for the CARAD pantry:

• flour
• oil
• tinned tomatoes
• basmati rice
• UHT milk
• dried legumes
• tinned chickpeas
• hair shampoo and conditioner
• deodorant
• laundry detergent
• toilet cleaner
• multipurpose cleaner
• sanitary pads.
