Page introduction (keep short).

Join the City of Cockburn for a quiet and powerful tribute to the journeys of migrant women in our community.

In Her Words: Stories of Strength and Settlement is a moving exhibition of oral histories and poetry that honours the strength, resilience, and cultural contributions of women who migrated to Australia and made it their home.

Presented in recognition of Refugee Week, the exhibition offers a space to reflect on journeys of displacement, belonging, and identity — and to celebrate the diversity that enriches our community.

Curated with care by community members, with special thanks to Denise for gathering and preserving these voices, the exhibition invites visitors to listen in and be part of this shared story.

  • Visitors are welcome to leave a note of reflection or feedback during their visit.
  • A QR code will also be available, linking to the full collection of stories online.
