Page introduction (keep short).

Making Home Under Southern Skies will highlight the stories of two centuries of Chinese communities’ contributions to our vibrant multicultural state.

From the 1830s to now, Western Australians from Chinese backgrounds have shaped Western Australia in countless ways.

Drawing from the project's digital portal of over 3,500 known migrants, family histories, and community contributions, this exhibition brings those stories together—on campus, in the city, and across the regions.

The exhibition will be held across metropolitan and regional WA from November 2025 to late 2026. For more information on other dates and locations, visit the project website.

The Making Home Under Southern Skies exhibition is part of the larger, community-driven Two Centuries of Chinese Heritage in Western Australia project, administrated by a project team at the School of Social Sciences at the University of Western Australia.
