Page introduction (keep short).

As part of Harmony Week 2026, join the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale for a supportive and empowering workshop for parents navigating life between cultures.

Raising children in a country or culture different from your own can bring both joy and challenge. Many parents find themselves balancing traditions, languages and values from their upbringing with the expectations and experiences their children encounter in Australia.

This workshop creates a safe and welcoming space to reflect, share experiences and build confidence in parenting across cultures.

Together we will explore:

  • what culture means and how it shapes parenting
  • how traditions, values and beliefs are passed on to children
  • the strengths different cultures bring to family life
  • supporting your child’s identity and well-being between cultures
  • making decisions that honour your family’s unique story.
This session is designed for culturally and linguistically diverse parents and families navigating diverse cultural backgrounds within the same household.

Come along to connect with other parents, share insights and leave feeling confident in your parenting journey.
