Twenty graduates of OMI's Leadership and Governance Program have been honoured at a special ceremony hosted by the Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Interests, Hon Tony Buti MLA.

The successful program seeks to increase the representation of professionals from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) backgrounds on boards.

Office of Multicultural Interests (OMI) Executive Director James Jegasothy said 10 graduates from this year’s program had secured board positions.

“By having so many of our graduates already finding places on boards demonstrates the value of this program for the Western Australian community,” he said.

“Since the program started in 2015 more than 140 professionals of CaLD backgrounds have completed the program with a significant number joining boards and committees of public, corporate, and not-for-profit organisations.”

The Leadership and Governance Program is presented by OMI.
