A new Holocaust Education Centre in Yokine is set to officially open on Thursday, 27 August delivering on a key $1.8 million election commitment from the WA Government.

Located at the JHub Maccabi Community Centre, the Holocaust Education Centre provides an immersive experience for visitors, designed to deepen understanding of the Holocaust and its enduring lessons.

Through a combination of exhibition spaces, multimedia displays and survivor testimonies, the centre encourages critical reflection on the consequences of discrimination, prejudice and indifference.

The WA Government funding has supported the internal fit-out of the museum space, including exhibition construction, art installations, lighting, graphics and other associated works.

Developed by the Holocaust Institute of Western Australia, the purpose-built facility will deliver education programs for students, educators and the broader community, supporting learning that promotes respect, inclusion and social cohesion.

The centre's exhibitions present the Holocaust as a case study in human behaviour, encouraging visitors to examine ethical decision-making, moral courage and the impact of words and actions.

Since 2020, the WA Government have supported the JHub Maccabi Community Centre with more than $8.3 million.
