On Tuesday 4 November 2025, 19 participants from the Office of Multicultural Interests’ (OMI) Leadership and Governance Program celebrated their graduation with a special ceremony, marking the end of 14 months of intensive training, networking and leadership development.
Now in its
10th year, the OMI Leadership and Governance Program aims to assist skilled professionals from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) backgrounds to develop the confidence to nominate for public, not for profit and private sector boards and committees.
The graduation ceremony featured a keynote speech from alumni Dr Siddier Chambers, with each mentee being presented with a certificate by Hon Dr Tony Buti MLA, Minister for Multicultural Interests.
Facilitator Dee Roche and the dedicated mentors of the program were also recognised for their hard work and dedication in ensuring the program can continue to succeed.
Long time mentors Maria Saraceni and Shona Zulsdorf, who have supported the program since its inception in 2015, were honoured for their dedication and support in increasing CaLD representation in leadership over the last 10 years.
Well done to all of the 2024 program graduates and a heartfelt thank you to the mentors whose guidance and commitment made this achievement possible!
